9 am :

Quick pit stop at the Patent Shop.

Stock up on local favorites like Teng Teng or Ting Ting—sweet, crunchy snacks that make any road trip better.

9:30 am :

Pop by the Kwan Im Temple in Siantar.

It’s quiet, colorful, and worth a stroll. Snap a few photos, breathe in the peace for a minute.

By Noon :

You pull into Parapat.

This lakeside town feels slow and calm compared to the city hustle. Time to grab lunch at one of the local spots and recharge for the afternoon.

1 pm :

After lunch, hop on a ferry.

The water’s bright blue as you cruise to Samosir Island, which sits right in the middle of Lake Toba. The island is volcanic and packed with Batak Toba culture—they say it’s the fifth biggest lake island in the world. The first stop is Tomok Village, where you’ll visit King Sidabutar’s ancient tomb and dive into some local history.

Got a group of 14 or more? You’ll also swing by Ambarita Village for an extra bit of adventure.

4 pm :

Ferry back to Parapat.

Start thinking about the return trip.

Back on the road to Medan.
